How Image 2.6 settings show up
The same OpenAI examples, read on 2026-11-05 as a settings guide. Complexity rearranges the paper-cut poster. Flare and Sunburst render the Thread tagline differently. The lantern frame is a still from a documented GIF.

What does Image 2.6 refer to?
Image 2.6 is the short way people search for OpenAI's Images 2.6, released on November 4, 2026 in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API. The full model name on Nano AI is GPT Image 2.6. This page explains the name, the two API variants, and the new settings. The generator at the top already has GPT Image 2.6 selected.
OpenAI ships two API models: gpt-image-2.6-flare and gpt-image-2.6-sunburst. Flare is the fast variant. Sunburst is the higher-detail variant. Quality and complexity are different knobs. Quality covers low, medium, high, xhigh and max, and it changes how much detail the model renders. Complexity is low, medium or high, and it changes how much planning goes into the scene before rendering.
A search for Image 2.6 is not a search for GPT Image 2.5. That earlier release, dated 2026-09-08, remains on its own page and also costs 12 credits. Images 2.6 adds GIFs, markup-guided edits and SVG export in OpenAI's API. On this site the practical limits match the other GPT Image pages: 1K stills, up to 5 reference images, and 1 to 4 variations.

One prompt, three complexity levels
OpenAI used one paper-cut sentence and changed only complexity. Low keeps a crown and a front banner. High moves CHAMPIONS into the stands. The prompt did not specify those choices.
Flare and Sunburst are variants
The Thread pair is one tagline, "Yours to Create.", rendered by Flare and by Sunburst. Nano AI does not list them as two models. The menu says GPT Image 2.6.
Quality is not complexity
OpenAI uses quality for texture and small type, including xhigh and max, and complexity for how much the model plans. This page does not expose either knob. You still choose aspect ratio and 1 to 4 variations.
A GIF, shown as a still
The lantern monkey is OpenAI's looping GIF example. Image 2.6 can describe motion. The file on this page is one frame, because the generator here returns a still.
Image 2.6 names side by side
The middle column is what OpenAI documents. The right two columns are what Nano AI actually offers. API dollar prices are on OpenAI's pricing page and are not copied here.

Prompts for the Image 2.6 search
These are written for this page. They are not the same set as the GPT Image 2.6 model page. Quote every word that must appear.
Specified champions sign
A premium handcrafted layered paper-cut illustration of a football team celebrating inside a packed stadium. Put the word "CHAMPIONS" on a sign in the stands, not on a banner in front. Blue paper jerseys, gold trophy, no extra words.
Exact app name
A square app icon for a notes app named "Fieldnote". The only word is "Fieldnote", set in a serif, on cream paper, with a small olive sprig. No other text.
Three priorities slide
A single pitch-deck slide titled "Three Priorities" with three short bullets: "Ship weekly", "Talk to users", "Keep the scope small". White background, one blue accent, no photos, no extra text.
Lantern still frame
A little monkey in an olive-green hooded coat stands in a snowy pine forest at dusk, holding a glowing amber paper lantern at chest height. A wooden cabin glows behind it. Single still frame, camera still, no text.
Edit: add a banner
Add a small paper banner that reads "CHAMPIONS". Keep the trophy, the team and the stadium exactly as they are.
FAQ
Image 2.6 FAQ
Answers for the short search, not a repeat of the model-page FAQ.
Is Image 2.6 a different product from GPT Image 2.6?
No. Image 2.6 is the short search for OpenAI Images 2.6. On Nano AI you generate it by choosing GPT Image 2.6. One image costs 12 credits. A new account starts with 64 credits, which covers 5 images.
Which API id is Image 2.6?
OpenAI lists two: gpt-image-2.6-flare and gpt-image-2.6-sunburst. Flare is positioned for speed, Sunburst for detail and consistency. This site has one menu entry, GPT Image 2.6, rather than a Flare switch and a Sunburst switch.
What do complexity and quality mean?
In OpenAI's API, complexity is low, medium or high and changes how much planning the model does. Quality includes low, medium, high, xhigh and max and changes visual detail. Neither setting is a separate control on Nano AI.
Is Image 2.6 the same as GPT Image 2.5?
No. GPT Image 2.5 is the September 8, 2026 release and has its own page. Image 2.6 is the November 4, 2026 release. Both cost 12 credits on Nano AI. OpenAI describes Images 2.6 as about 50% faster than before and adds GIF output in the API.
Can this page make the lantern GIF?
The picture in the gallery is a still from OpenAI's published GIF. The generator on this page returns still images at 1K. It does not export GIF or SVG.
How long does an Image 2.6 generation take here?
Not yet measured on Nano AI. OpenAI's own claim is about 50% faster than before, with Flare as little as about 6 seconds at low quality. Do not treat those numbers as a Nano AI benchmark.
Is this page run by OpenAI?
No. Nano AI is an independent service and is not affiliated with OpenAI. You do not need a ChatGPT subscription or an OpenAI API key to generate here.
